1. Ignition switch ON.

2. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “BCM”.

3. Check DTC.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO>>

Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION SIGNAL

1. Ignition switch ON.

2. Check signal between passenger door mirror control module harness connector and ground using an oscilloscope.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK PASSENGER DOOR MIRROR CONTROL MODULE CIRCUIT

1. Ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect passenger door mirror control module connector and BCM connector.

3. Check continuity between passenger door mirror control module harness connector and BCM harness connector.

   Passenger door mirror control module		BCM		Continuity

4. Check continuity between passenger door mirror control module harness connector and ground.

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

REPLACE PASSENGER DOOR MIRROR CONTROL MODULE

Replace passenger door mirror control module. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO>>

GO TO 4.

REPLACE BCM

Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK FUSE

1. Ignition switch OFF.

2. Check that the following fuses are not blown (open):

Is the fuse blown (open)?

YES>>

Replace the blown fuse after repairing the affected circuit.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK SMART REAR VIEW MIRROR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

1. Disconnect smart rear view mirror connector.

2. Ignition switch ON.

3. Check voltage between smart rear view mirror harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

CHECK SMART REAR VIEW MIRROR GROUND CIRCUIT

1. Ignition switch OFF.

2. Check continuity between smart rear view mirror harness connector and ground.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK FUSE

1. Ignition switch OFF.

2. Check that the following fuse is not blown (open):

YES>>

Replace the blown fuse after repairing the affected circuit.

NO>>

1. Disconnect passenger door mirror control module connector.

2. Ignition switch ON.

3. Check voltage between passenger door mirror control module harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness and check fuse.

CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION SIGNAL

1. Ignition switch OFF.

2. Connect passenger door mirror control module connector.

3. Ignition switch ON.

4. Check signal between passenger door mirror control module harness connector and ground using an oscilloscope.

Repair or replace harness.

3. Check continuity between passenger door mirror control module harness connector and door mirror RH harness connector.

Smart Rear View Mirror Circuit Nissan Pathfinder 5th Gen

Component Function Check

CHECK SMART REAR VIEW MIRROR OPERATION

1. Ignition switch ON.

2. Turn ON the power lever located at the bottom of the smart rear view mirror, and check that the image from the smart rear view mirror camera is displayed on the LCD monitor integrated in the smart rear view mirror.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO>>

Check smart rear view mirror circuit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

CHECK SMART REAR VIEW MIRROR CAMERA CIRCUIT

1. Ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect smart rear view mirror harness connector and smart rear view mirror camera harness connector.

3. Check continuity between smart rear view mirror harness connector and smart rear view mirror camera harness connector.
