Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

The 4WD control unit is serviced with the electro-hydraulic coupling. For removal and installation, refer to Removal and Installation.

Transfer Cover Dust Seal Nissan Pathfinder Fifth generation

Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

Remove front drive shaft (RH). Refer to Removal and Installation (RH).

Remove heat shield. Refer to Exploded View.

Using suitable tool, remove transfer cover dust seal.

INSTALLATION

Using Tool, install the transfer cover dust seal.

CAUTION:

• Do not reuse the transfer cover dust seal.

• When installing, do not incline transfer cover dust seal.

• Apply multi-purpose grease onto transfer cover dust seal lips.

NOTE:

When installing the transfer cover dust seal (1), the notch is located on the lower side (A)

Installation of remaining components is in the reverse order of removal.

Removal and Installation

NOTE:

• Replacement on the vehicle may cause damage to the transfer cover, and may cause a transfer oil leak.

• If transfer cover oil seal requires replacement, remove the transfer assembly from the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle before replacing transfer cover oil seal. Refer to Disassembly.
