Is DTC “C1201-46” detected?
YES>>Proceed to diagnosis procedure: Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
NO>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.
PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS
CONSULT
Erase self-diagnostic results for “ALL MODE AWD/4WD”.
Ignition switch OFF, and wait for 10 seconds or more.
Ignition switch ON, and wait for 15 seconds or more.
Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of “ALL MODE AWD/4WD”.
Which DTC is detected?
Including other DTC>>Perform the trouble diagnosis for detected other DTC. Refer to DTC Index.
C1201-46 only>>GO TO 2.
CHECK TERMINALS AND HARNESS CONNECTORS
Check 4WD control unit pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
Is inspection result normal?
YES>>After ignition switch OFF, perform DTC confirmation procedure again. If DTC “C1201-46” is detected, replace actuator assembly due to the malfunction of the 4WD control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO>>Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.

CHECK TERMINALS AND HARNESS CONNECTORS
Check 4WD control unit pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
Is inspection result normal?
YES>>After ignition switch OFF, perform DTC confirmation procedure again. If DTC “C1203–86” is detected, replace actuator assembly due to the malfunction of the 4WD control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Except C1210-97>>Perform the trouble diagnosis for detected DTC. Refer to DTC Index.

CONSULT
Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of “ENGINE”.
Is any DTC detected?
YES>>Check the DTC. Refer to DTC Index.
NO>>GO TO 3.
PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS OF TCM
CONSULT
Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of “TRANSMISSION”.
Is any DTC detected?

CHECK TERMINALS AND HARNESS CONNECTORS
Check 4WD control unit pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
Is inspection result normal?
YES>>After ignition switch OFF, perform DTC confirmation procedure again. If DTC “C1210-97” is detected, replace actuator assembly due to the malfunction of the 4WD control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO>>Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.

PERFORM 4WD CONTROL UNIT PROGRAMMING
CONSULT
Erase "Self Diagnostic Result" of “ALL MODE AWD/4WD”.
Perform 4WD control unit programming. Refer to Description.
Suppose the 4WD control unit has been replaced.
Ignition switch OFF.
Perform the “DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE”. Refer to DTC Confirmation Procedure.
Is DTC “U3D02-06” detected?
YES>>GO TO 2.
NO>>Inspection End.
CHECK TERMINALS AND HARNESS CONNECTORS
Check 4WD control unit pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
Is inspection result normal?
YES>>After ignition switch OFF, perform DTC confirmation procedure again. If DTC “U3D02-06” is detected, replace actuator assembly due to the malfunction of the 4WD control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO>>Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.
CHECK FUSES
Check that the following fuses are not blown:

PERFORM SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT (COMBINATION METER)
CONSULT
Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “METER/M&A”.
Is any detected?
YES>>Check the DTC. Refer to DTC Index (Full TFT Meter) or DTC Index (7 Inch Information Display).
NO>>Perform the trouble diagnosis for combination meter power supply circuit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure (Full TFT Meter) or Diagnosis Procedure (7 Inch Information Display).
CHECK TRANSFER OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Ignition switch OFF.
Remove transfer oil temperature sensor. Refer to Exploded View.
Check the resistance between transfer oil temperature sensor connector terminals.
Make measuring condition using burning hot water.
CAUTION:
Prevent a burn from the burning hot water.
Be sure to dry the sensor after checking.
