Front wiper motor (1) is attached under the cowl top cover.
Controls front wiper operation with IPDM E/R control.
Transmits front wiper auto stop position signal to the IPDM E/R.
COMPONENT OPERATION
When power is supplied to the HI terminal of the front wiper motor, HI operates.
When power is supplied to the LO terminal of the front wiper motor, LO operates.
When the front wiper motor is at the stop position, two points of contact in the front wiper motor are connected, and the front wiper auto stop position signal is grounded.
When the front wiper motor is operating, two points of contact in the front wiper motor are disconnected and the front wiper auto stop position signal is not grounded.
The IPDM E/R detects the front wiper auto stop position signal from the front wiper motor to find out the front wiper motor position (stop position/except stop position).
Rear wiper motor is attached to the back door.
Controls rear wiper operation with BCM control.
Transmits the rear wiper auto stop position signal to the BCM.
COMPONENT OPERATION
When power is supplied to the ON terminal of the rear wiper motor, the rear wiper motor operates the rear wiper.
When the rear wiper motor is at the stop position, two points of contact in the rear wiper motor are connected and the rear wiper auto stop position signal is grounded.
When the rear wiper motor is operating, two points of contact in the rear wiper motor are disconnected and the rear wiper auto stop position signal is not grounded.
The BCM detects the rear wiper auto stop position signal from the rear wiper motor to find out the rear wiper motor position (stop position/except stop position).
The front and rear washer motor is attached to the front of the washer tank.
The front and rear washer motor operates the front or rear washer.
The front and rear washer motor sprays washer fluid depending on the state of the combination switch (wiper and washer switch).
COMPONENT OPERATION
The washer switch changes polarity of the voltage supplied to the front and rear washer motor to change the rotatory direction of the front and rear washer motor to operate front washer or rear washer.
Washer fluid level switch is attached to the rear of the washer tank.
Detects that the washer fluid level is low and transmits washer fluid level switch signal to the combination meter.
COMPONENT OPERATION
When washer fluid level is low, the float goes down and washer fluid level switch turns ON.
The rain sensor is installed on the windshield.
Detects water droplets on the windshield with infrared rays, and transmits the rain sensor signal to BCM via LIN communication.
Wiper and washer switch (1) is integrated with the combination switch.
NOTE:
Without rain sensing wipers shown, with rain sensing wipers similar.
The washer switch supplies the power supply to the front and rear washer motor while the washer switch is on to operate the front and rear washer motor.
The front and rear washer motor is grounded through the washer switch while the washer switch is ON.
