6. Front door lock assembly RH (door switch)

Detects door open/close condition and then transmits ON/OFF signal to BCM.

Refer to Door Lock Assembly for detailed component location.
7. Front door request switch RH

Transmits door request switch signal to Intelligent Key unit.

Refer to Door Request Switch for detailed component location.
8. Push-button ignition switch (NATS antenna amp.)

Push-button ignition switch has push switch inside which detects that push-button ignition switch is pressed, and then transmits ON/OFF signal to BCM. BCM changes the ignition switch position with the operation of push-button ignition switch. BCM maintains the ignition switch position status while push-button ignition switch is not operated.

Refer to NATS Antenna Amp..
9. Intelligent Key unit
  • Intelligent Key unit controls INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM (ENGINE START FUNCTION), NISSAN Nissan Pathfinder Vehicle IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-NATS [NVIS (NATS)] and VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM.

  • Intelligent Key unit performs the ID verification between Intelligent Key unit and Intelligent Key when the Intelligent Key is carried into the detection area of inside key antenna, and push-button ignition switch is pressed. If the ID verification result is OK, ignition switch operation is available. Then, when the ignition switch is placed ON, Intelligent Key unit performs ID verification between Intelligent Key unit and ECM. If the ID verification result is OK, ECM can start engine.

Refer to Intelligent Key Unit for detailed component location.
10. Brake pedal position switch

Detects that the brake pedal is depressed, and transmits the signal to the BCM.

Refer to Brake Pedal Position Switch / Stop Lamp Switch for detailed component location.
11. Hood switch Refer to Hood switch.
12. Horn (low) Horns are operated when the panic button on the Intelligent Key is pressed or the alarm is activated.
13. Horn (high) Horns are operated when the panic button on the Intelligent Key is pressed or the alarm is activated.
14. TCM (Transmission control module)

Receives the P/N position signal from transmission range switch, and then transmits the shift position signal to BCM via CAN communication.

Refer to Component Parts Location for detailed component location.
15. Stop lamp switch

Detects that the brake pedal is depressed, and transmits the signal to the BCM.

Refer to Brake Pedal Position Switch / Stop Lamp Switch for detailed component location.
16. Electric shift control module

Detects the shift lever status, transmits park position signal to the BCM.

Refer to Component Parts Location for detailed component location.
17. BCM (Body Control Module)
  • BCM controls INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM (ENGINE START FUNCTION), INFINITI Nissan Pathfinder Vehicle IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-NATS [IVIS (NATS)] and VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM.

  • BCM performs the ID verification between BCM and Intelligent Key when the Intelligent Key is carried into the detection area of inside key antenna, and push-button ignition switch is pressed. If the ID verification result is OK, ignition switch operation is available. Then, when the ignition switch is placed in the ON position, BCM performs ID verification between BCM and ECM. If the ID verification result is OK, ECM can start engine.

Refer to Component Parts Location for detailed component location.
18. Inside key antenna (console)

Detects whether Intelligent Key is inside the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle or not, and then transmits the signal to the BCM.

Refer to Inside Key Antenna for detailed component location.
19. Front door lock assembly LH (door switch)

Detects door open/close condition and then transmits ON/OFF signal to BCM.

Refer to Door Lock Assembly for detailed component location.
20. Front door request switch LH

Transmits door request switch signal to Intelligent Key unit.

Refer to Door Request Switch for detailed component location.
21. Outside key antenna (rear door LH)

Detects whether Intelligent Key is outside the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle or not, and then transmits the signal to the Intelligent Key unit.

Refer to Outside Key Antenna for detailed component location.
22. Rear door lock assembly LH (door switch)

Detects door open/close condition and then transmits ON/OFF signal to BCM.

Refer to Door Lock Assembly for detailed component location.
23. Rear door request switch LH (if so equipped)

Transmits door request switch signal to Intelligent Key unit.

Refer to Door Request Switch for detailed component location.
24. Outside key antenna (rear bumper)

Detects whether Intelligent Key is outside the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle or not, and then transmits the signal to the Intelligent Key unit.

Refer to Outside Key Antenna for detailed component location.
25. Back door opener switch (request switch)

Detects door lock/unlock operations from the outside of the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle and transmits the door request switch signal to the Intelligent Key unit.

Refer to Back Door Opener Switch for detailed component location.

NATS Antenna Amp.

  • NATS antenna amp. is integrated in push-button ignition switch.

  • If the ID is successfully verified, when push-button ignition switch is pressed and the engine can be started.

  • In that case, NATS ID verification can be performed when Intelligent Key backside is contacted to push-button ignition switch while brake pedal is depressed. If verification result is OK, engine can be started.

Hood Switch

  • Hood switch is integrated into hood lock assembly. It is located under the front of the hood.

  • Hood switch detects that hood is open and then transmits ON/OFF signal to IPDM E/R. IPDM E/R transmits hood switch signal to BCM via CAN communication.
