If another "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE" occurs just before, ignition switch OFF and wait for at least 15 seconds, then perform the next test.
TESTING CONDITION:
Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 9 V.
>>
GO TO 2.
PERFORM DTC DETECTION
Start the engine.
Drive the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle for a few minutes under the following conditions.
Selector lever: D position
Stop the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle.
Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?
YES>>Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure.
NO-1>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO-2>>Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
CHECK DTC (TRANSMISSION)
With CONSULT
Ignition switch ON.
Perform “Self Diagnostic Results” in “TRANSMISSION”.
Is DTC other than P2783-00 detected?
YES>>Check DTC detected item. Refer to DTC Index.
NO>>GO TO 2.
CHECK A/T COOLING SYSTEM
Check the A/T cooling system for obstruction/damage/blockage.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 3.
NO>>Repair or replace damaged part.
CHECK A/T FLUID
Check A/T fluid level and condition. Refer to Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 4.
NO>>If A/T fluid is leaking, repair damaged part. Refer to Inspection.
Refill or replace A/T fluid. Refer to Adjustment or Replacement.
PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
With CONSULT
Erase DTC of "TRANSMISSION".
Ignition switch OFF and wait for at least 15 seconds.
Ignition switch ON.
Perform DTC Confirmation Procedure.
Is DTC detected?
YES>>Replace transaxle assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO>>INSPECTION END

Start the engine.
Drive the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle for a few minutes under the following conditions.
Shift position: D position
Stop the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle.
Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?
YES>>Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure.
NO-1>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO-2>>Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
CHECK DTC (ENGINE)
With CONSULT
Ignition switch ON.
Perform “Self Diagnostic Results” in “ENGINE”.
Is any DTC detected?
YES>>Check DTC detected item. Refer to DTC Index.
NO>>GO TO 2.
CHECK A/T COOLING SYSTEM
Replace TCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.
Is the inspection result normal?

Is DTC detected?

NO>>GO TO 3.
PERFORM DTC DETECTION (PART 2)
Drive the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle under the following conditions.
Gear position: 7th → 8th → 7th
Repeat step 1 2 times.
Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?
YES>>Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure.
NO>>GO TO 4.
PERFORM DTC DETECTION (PART 3)
Stop the engine by stop/start system. Refer to System Description.
Restart the engine and wait for at least 25 seconds.
Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?
YES>>Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
NO-1>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO-2>>Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
CHECK DTC (TRANSMISSION)
With CONSULT
Ignition switch ON.

REPLACE DOG CLUTCH A POSITION SENSOR
Replace dog clutch A position sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation.
