Work Flow

OVERALL SEQUENCE

DETAILED FLOW

GET INFORMATION FOR SYMPTOM

Get detailed information from the customer about the symptom (the condition and the environment when the incident/malfunction occurred).

GO TO 2.

CONFIRM THE SYMPTOM

Try to confirm the symptom described by the customer. Verify relation between the symptom and the condition when the symptom is detected.

GO TO 3.

PERFORM SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT

CONSULT

Ignition switch ON and wait for 2 seconds or more.
Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "MULTI AV" and "AUDIO AMP.".

Are any DTCs displayed?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Index (AV Control Unit) or DTC Index (Bose Speaker Amp.).

NO>>

GO TO 4.

PERFORM SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS

Refer to Symptom Table.

GO TO 5.

FINAL CHECK

Refer to symptom described by the customer in step 1.

Is the symptom still present?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Inspection End.

Additional Service When Replacing Av Control Unit Nissan Pathfinder R53

Description

BEFORE REPLACEMENT

When replacing AV control unit, save or print current vehicle specification with CONSULT configuration before replacement.

NOTE:

If “Before Replace ECU” cannot be used, use the “After Replace ECU” or “Manual Configuration” after replacing AV control unit.

AFTER REPLACEMENT

CAUTION:

When replacing AV control unit, you must perform “After Replace ECU” with CONSULT.

Complete the procedure of “After Replace ECU” in order.

If you set incorrect “After Replace ECU”, incidents might occur.

Configuration is different for each Nissan Pathfinder vehicle model. Confirm configuration of each vehicle model.

Work Procedure

SAVE VIN DATA (AV CONTROL UNIT)

CONSULT work support

Perform “SAVE VIN DATA” to save current VIN data.

GO TO 2.

SAVE “OPERATION LOG”

CONSULT

Save Operation Log, according to the procedure of “Programming” in CONSULT Operation Manual.

NOTE:

AV control unit part number is saved in “Operating Log” saved in CONSULT.

GO TO 3.

REPLACE AV CONTROL UNIT

Replace AV control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation.

GO TO 4.

CHECK “OPERATION LOG”

CONSULT

Check “Operation Log” saved before replacing the AV control unit, according to the procedure of “Programming” in CONSULT Operation Manual.

NOTE:

For the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle that the programming is to be performed, check if “Operation Log” of parts number is in Saved Data List.

Is there an applicable Operation Log in the Saved Data List?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

GO TO 6.

PERFORM AV CONTROL UNIT PROGRAMMING

CONSULT

Perform AV control unit programming, according to “Programming” of CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.

CAUTION:

During programming, maintain the following conditions:

Ignition switch: ON

Electric load: OFF

Brake pedal: Not depressed

12V battery voltage: 12 – 13.5 V (Check the value displayed on the CONSULT screen.)

GO TO 8.

READ IN AV CONTROL UNIT PART NUMBER BY “FAST LINKED”

Obtain AV control unit part number by NISSAN PARTS CATALOGUE GLOBAL Web-FAST, according to the procedure of “FAST linked” in CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.

CAUTION:

Be sure select “FAST linked”.

NOTE:

“FAST linked” allows an appropriate programming by obtaining ECU part number from NISSAN PARTS CATALOGUE GLOBAL Web-FAST even when the part number cannot be obtained from the old ECU used before replacing with a new one.

GO TO 7.

PERFORM PROGRAMMING (FAST LINKED)

CONSULT

Perform AV control unit programming according to the procedure of FAST linked in CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.

CAUTION:

During programming, maintain the following conditions:

Ignition switch: ON

Electric load: OFF

Brake pedal: Not depressed

12V battery voltage: 12 – 13.5 V (Check the value displayed on the CONSULT screen.)

GO TO 8.

CONFIGURATION （AV CONTROL UNIT）

CONSULT Configuration

Perform configuration. Refer to Work Procedure.

GO TO 9.

WRITE VIN DATA (AV CONTROL UNIT)

CONSULT work support

Perform “WRITE VIN (SAVED DATA)” or “WRITE VIN (MANUAL INPUT)” to write VIN data.

GO TO 10.

CHECK NETWORK INITIAL SETTINGS

CONSULT work support

Perform “NETWORK INITIAL SETTINGS”.

YES>>

Work End.

Additional Service When Replacing Bose Speaker Amp. Nissan Pathfinder R53

Description

BEFORE REPLACEMENT

When replacing Bose speaker amp., save or print current vehicle specification with CONSULT configuration before replacement.

NOTE:

If “Before Replace ECU” cannot be used, use the “After Replace ECU” or “Manual Configuration” after replacing Bose speaker amp.

AFTER REPLACEMENT

CAUTION:

When replacing Bose speaker amp., you must perform “After Replace ECU” with CONSULT.

Work Procedure

REPLACE BOSE SPEAKER AMP.

Replace Bose speaker amp. Refer to Removal and Installation.

YES>>

GO TO 2.

CONFIGURATION (BOSE SPEAKER AMP.)

Perform Bose speaker amp. configuration. Refer to Work Procedure.

YES>>

Work end.

Configuration (av Control Unit) Nissan Pathfinder SUV

Description

Vehicle specification needs to be written with CONSULT because it is not written after replacing AV control unit.

Configuration has three functions as follows:

Function	Description
"Before Replace ECU"	Reads the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle configuration of current AV control unit. Saves the read vehicle configuration.
"After Replace ECU"	Writes the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle configuration with manual selection.
"Select Saved Data List"	Writes the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle configuration with saved data.

CAUTION:

When replacing AV control unit, you must perform “Select Saved Data List” or "After Replace ECU" with CONSULT.

Complete the procedure of “Select Saved Data List” or "After Replace ECU" in order.

If you set incorrect “Select Saved Data List” or "After Replace ECU", incidents might occur.

Configuration is different for each Nissan Pathfinder vehicle model. Confirm configuration of each vehicle model.

Never perform “Select Saved Data List” or "After Replace ECU" except for new AV control unit.

Select “Re/programming, Configuration” of "MULTI AV".

When writing saved data>>

GO TO 2.

When writing manually>>

GO TO 3.

WRITING Nissan Pathfinder Vehicle SPECIFICATION

CONSULT Configuration

Select “Configuration” or “After Replace ECU”, and write the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle specification saved in CONSULT to AV control unit.

CAUTION:

Do not perform any operation such as the navigation operation during configuration writing.

GO TO 4.

WRITE Nissan Pathfinder Vehicle SPECIFICATION

CONSULT Configuration

Select “Re/programming, Configuration” of "MULTI AV".

Select “Manual Configuration”, and write the setting value as shown in the following table to AV control unit according to the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle specification.

CAUTION:

Grasp vehicle specifications precisely. The control of ECU control may not function normally if the specifications are misread.

NOTE:

The items shown in the list depend on Nissan Pathfinder vehicle specifications.

The config list may not be displayed depending on vehicle specifications. This is not a malfunction.

If selection items are not displayed on the CONSULT screen, touch "NEXT".

GO TO 4.

PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS

CONSULT Self Diagnostic Result

Perform self-diagnosis of CONSULT, and check whether or not DTC B1341–55 is detected.

Is DTC B1341–55 detected?

YES>>

GO TO 1.

NO>>

GO TO 5.

OPERATION CHECK

Check that the operation of the AV control unit and camera images (fixed guide lines and predictive course lines) are normal.

YES>>

Work End.

Configuration (bose Speaker Amp.) Nissan Pathfinder Fifth generation

Description

Vehicle specification needs to be written with CONSULT because it is not written after replacing Bose speaker amp.

Configuration has three functions as follows:
