System Description
The 8CH CAN gateway system communicates between vehicle CAN communication circuits, ITS CAN communication circuits, chassis CAN communication circuits, IT CAN communication circuit, Drivetrain CAN communication circuit, and diagnostic CAN communication circuit.
This system selects and transmits only necessary information.

CONSULT performs the following functions via CAN communication with 8CH CAN gateway.

SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT

When “CRNT” is displayed on “Self Diagnostic Result”
The system is presently malfunctioning.
When “PAST” is displayed on “Self Diagnostic Result”
System malfunction in the past is detected, but the system is presently normal.
Freeze Frame Data (FFD)
When DTC is detected, a vehicle state shown below is recorded and displayed on CONSULT.

CGW INFORMATION
Display the diagnosis mode which a user can perform in Diag Test mode/Open Mode by switching the CGW status form Restricted mode to Diag Test Mode/Open Mode.
NOTE:
In some vehicles, it is not malfunctioning in case of no display of "CGW Information". In this case, it is not necessary to switch the CGW status.
Set to "Open Mode"
Refer to “CONSULT Operation Manual”.
Set to "Diag Test Mode"
Turn the ignition switch ON.
Depress accelerator pedal (5/8 or more) two times within 10 seconds.
NOTE:
When any of the following conditions is satisfied, "Diag Test Mode" will be released.
Nissan Pathfinder Vehicle speed reaches 7.9 km/h or more.
Perform the following procedure.
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Get out of the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle and close the driver side door.
Wait at least 3 minutes.
CAUTION:
While waiting, never operate the Nissan Pathfinder vehicle such as locking, opening, and closing doors. Violation of this caution results in the activation of ACC power supply according to the Auto ACC function.
ECU IDENTIFICATION
The part number of 8CH CAN gateway is displayed.
CAN DIAG SUPPORT MONITOR
The results of receive diagnosis of CAN communication can be read.
